Maximising Your Wedding Budget

28 Nov 2017

There's such a misconception that us wedding suppliers are wringing our greedy little hands at the mention of the word "Wedding" I've even read in wedding forums that people believe some suppliers double their prices at the mention of the word. I promise you this is not the case. Talking to your supplier about your budget, what you can and can't afford and asking as many questions as possible will really help you get the most for your money, after all, we are the experts!

Here are my top tips to get the stationery you want within budget.

1. Slim Down the Evening Invite package

The day invitations will usually consist of an invitation, RSVP & information card, but think about whether your evening guests really need all of this. Evening guests tend to be local friends and co-workers. Do they need to know about transport and accommodation? a stand alone invitation will usually contain all of the information these guests need to know.

2. Use Both Sides of the invitation

Instead of having inserts, consider using both sides of your invitation for all of your information.

3. Be realistic about Pintrest

I LOVE pintrest for inspiration but this is not the place to go when you have a tight budget. I get so many emails asking me to quote for pictures taken from pintrest. Some of them have included odd sizing, (which costs more to print) foiling, laser cutting. These are all amazing ideas but they do come with additional costs. Visiting the website of your fav stationery company will unearth some real treasures and most likely at a fraction of the price.

4. Be open about your budget

If you only have £100 to spend on stationery, don't be put off when the quote comes to more than that. Go back to them and ask what you can realistically get for your budget, incorporating your chosen design. Every company will be able to offer you their own money saving tips and none of us want to turn business away. A happy bride is a happy business, no matter the budget.
