This is the question we get asked the most at wedding fairs so in this weeks blog, I thought we should talk about wedding stationery timelines.
For save the dates, we recommend sending them out as soon as you have booked your venue. Especially if you're getting married in the summer holidays, as people with children may be looking to book their family holiday. If your partners cousin has just booked a £2000 trip to Spain, they probably won't be Rsvp'ing "yes" So try and give people as much notice as possible.
For your wedding invitations, we advise sending them out about 6 months before, this just gives your guests enough time to RSVP. Ask for RSVPs to be returned by a certain date (2-3 weeks is a good amount of time) as you'll still have to chase people (usually friends who have forgotten that your envelope is still floating around in the bottom of their handbag, or car!) Don't fret about this one though, we speak to so many couples who are getting married within 4 months and still don't have invites sorted. The turnaround for printed stationery is usually around 2-3 weeks, so it's not the end of the world if you're reading this and you've been a bit more relaxed about things.
for everything else ie: table plan, place cards, table numbers, leave till about 4 weeks before the big day. About two months before my wedding, two of my friends ended their relationship and if they had been sat together, I fear world war III may have erupted. Leaving it till 4 weeks before, allows you to make those last minute changes.
I think that covers everything in the Wedding Stationery timeline. If you're still unsure though about anything though, just drop us an email, we love to chat all things wedding! Amanda@jellicoecreative.co.uk
